Milbank Church

Milbank Methodist Church in Station Town was built in 1904, it was built to replace the original Chapel on the site of Church Street, which burnt to the ground in what was described as a freak accident when sparks from a passing steam engine ignited. People of Station Town have always been made of "strong stuff" and not being deterred raised funds to build another church.

Milbank lived through two world war's and much conflict throughout the world, in our village it has outlived the pubs, the shops and the Community Centre and our Chapel is the hub of the village.

* We meet for worship every Sunday at 5.45pm and once a month we have a low key family
service with a high impact taken by members of the Church.

* Each Monday night we have choir practice 7pm - 9pm and four times year we put on our
very own concerts, each different, each with a theme.

* On the second Tuesday of the month we have a Tea Dance, this also has a theme and as well as dancing we have refreshments and a quiz.

* Each Monday afternoon we hold a Toddler group 1 - 2p.m. Run by Sure Start.

* On the 4th Tuesday of the month we have a Cinema Evening, 7p.m.

* Kidz Klub is held every Wednesday (term time) 6 - 7.15pm where children of primary school
age have great fun and all are welcome.

* Twice a month on a Thursday evening we hold our Station Town Neighbourhood Group
(STNG). An informal group working with the council to enhance the village e.g OAP Christmas
party, coach trips, children's activities and much more.

Our original Chapel may have fallen into a pile of ruined ashes but MILBANK Chapel rose from the
ashes and is soaring high above to give the people of Station Town and neighbouring areas a spiritual
